Exam Structure

100 Multiple Choice to be broken down as follows:

• 35 Vocab (25 from semester 2 and 10 from semester 1--semester 1 will deal primarily, though not exclusively, with verbs)
• 65 questions on literature from the second semester only (each unit will be represented, from Whitman through the Harlem Ren.)

Approx 35-40 Fill in the Blank to be broken down as follows: (these are estimates). No word banks are provided for these sections.

• 10 author background questions
• 5-10 rhetorical device applications (you'll read a passage and tell the primary device[s])
• 5 -10 grammar/ identify the best sentence
• 5-10 reading comprehension questions
• 10 literary period identification questions

One Extended Response to address your abilities to analyze text. (Will be reasonably short).
